Del Fiore's Move To Main Street

Popular pizzeria finds new home in Patchogue

Del Fiore's Pizza Company has a new look and a new location.Β  Yet, that doesn't mean that regulars are going to miss out on any of the familiar.Β  Instead, there is a great new place with more room for people to enjoy the pizza that has garnered Del Fiore's great reputation.Β Β

For 13 years, Del Fiore's Pizza's called North Ocean Avenue home, with its former location right next to the Italian pork store of the same name and family ownership.Β  Additionally, the Del Fiore name was linked to the Italian restaurant Mangia Mangia and MucChaCho's Mexican Grill.

Yet, it was clear to owner Angelo Galeotafiore, (who admittedly enjoys being called "Angelo Del Fiore") that it was time for a change.Β  "There was a call for larger counter space at Del Fiore's Pizza," he said.Β  Indeed the tight quarters were restricting the ever-growing business, while just a few blocks away MucChaCho's was set in an area far too big.

It became clear to Galeotafiore that something should be done.Β  While he said, "The other, small store would be perfect for MucChaCho's," he added that the future will most likely bring an expansion of the pork store into that space.Β  Fans of MucChaCho's should not worry, however, because Galeotafiore is considering hosting "MucChaCho's Mondays" sometime in the future if the demand is present.Β  This night would feature the food from MucChaCho's available at the new Del Fiore's location.

Currently, Del Fiore's Pizza is located on Main Street in Patchogue, just next to the Patchogue Theatre.Β  This fantastic location will bring in many new faces, as well as accommodating those who are already familiar with Del Fiore's Pizza.Β  "We were ready to grow," said Galeotafiore, "we had the space, and we really wanted to increase business and be on Main Street."

With the effort to expand and capitalize on Del Fiore's Pizza, Galeotafiore recently made the decision to shut down Mangia Mangia.Β  Speaking of Del Fiore's he said, "This is my baby and I'm very proud of it.Β  I really wanted to take the time to focus on it."Β

The closing of Mangia Mangia has brought new menu opportunities to Del Fiore's.Β  Galeotafiore has brought all of his cooks from his restaurant to the pizzeria, and will begin featuring restaurant favorites at the Del Fiore counter.

"We have such strong cliental and are in an awesome location," he said, adding, "Consistency is the key."

Consistency is very apparent in the food that Del Fiore's offers.Β  Galeotafiore uses the best ingredients available in order to produce pizza which is inventive and different.Β  Toppings such calamari, portabello mushrooms and fresh chicken and eggplant adorn the many intriguing slices.Β

Speaking to the efforts to revive Patchogue, Galeotafiore explained that decades ago, "Patchogue was empty and scary.Β  You can see what people have done.Β  Running a solid business is very important for revitalizing Patchogue.Β  You just need good owners who care."

Del Fiore's Pizza Company is newly located at 75 East Main Street and can be reached at 631-475-2500.
