ICYMI: Patchogue Residents Enjoy Waterfront's New Lighthouse

PATCHOGUE, NY— As part of the overall effort to revitalize parts of Patchogue, the Sandspit Marina is undergoing a dramatic makeover that residents are appreciating. The Patchogue Lighthouse, completed this past summer, is part of a larger renovation project at the marina, including a rebuilt jetty that was previously damaged and leaking.

The 22-foot-tall lighthouse is solar powered and has a practical purpose as well as a scenic one, guiding recreational sailors and Fire Island ferry captains in and out of the Patchogue River. Residents are enjoying the scenic new addition to Patchogue's bayfront, with the lighthouse quickly becoming a local landmark.
