Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Mastic Thursday afternoon.
Police say a man entered HSBC Bank, located at 1718 Montauk Highway, at about 1 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash and threatening the use of a gun.
The teller complied with the demand and gave the man cash from the drawer, police said. The man fled on foot northbound through the parking lot.

The man was described as white, between 50 and 55-years-old, approximately 5-foot-8 with a medium build and salt-and-pepper colored facial hair.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
