• Legislator Speaks Out After Deadly Park Shooting (southshorepress.com) — A North Bellport man was fatally shot at Robert Rowley Park and later pronounced dead at NYU Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation. Suffolk Legislator Dominick Thorne says officials had already been offering housing help to people staying in the park overnight and promises continued efforts to improve safety while police search for the shooter.
