PATCHOGUE, NY — A tiny building that happens to Patchogue's first black church recently celebrated its centennial, according to a report.

Founded in 1919, Grace African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church located near Grant Place and Cleveland Street. The church has just 22 members today, but pastor Jessie Fields told Newsday he hopes to grow those numbers. The church celebrated its 100 anniversary in May. A message left with a number listed for the church wasn't immediately returned.
