Photos: Oregon Middle School 2012 Moving Up Ceremony

Oregon's eighth grade students are heading to high school.

The moving up ceremony for Oregon Middle School's eighth grade students was held Thursday at .

The auditorium was packed with proud friends and relatives while eager students filled the stage.

In a speech to those in attendance, Principal James Bertsch proudly noted that the ceremony and its meaning is an important milestone for our students.

"Middle school is a very difficult time for many kids. At no other time do their bodies and minds change so much. It's a time in which many struggle to discover who they are but it's this struggle that makes us stronger and it is your ability to be resilient that I celebrate today," Bertsch said.

After the students received their certificates, a slideshow was shown onstage and then everyone gathered in the gym for refreshments.
