When I was interning on Capital Hill in 1974. Beef prices rose just like they are doing right now. If you haven't noticed beef prices have shot up in the last week. The usual excuses are being used but the truth is they are rising because the cattle industry believes they can get the price increases.
In 1974 the whole country countered the price increase by nationally boycotting beef. New exciting chicken dishes were created and old ones were publicized. Substitute chicken for beef stickers were everywhere. Being in our nations capital at the center of government I couldn't but realize how effective the boycott was as everyday some Congressman for the two parties would stand up or submit remarks saying basically "substitute chicken for beef." In fact I myself wrote such lines for the Congressman I was interning for and they appeared in the Congressional Record.
I am not going to say which is healthier for you, I will let your doctor or nutrition expert do that. All I will say is which one is better for your wallet and that is CHICKEN.
