SJC Baseball Grabs First Wins
The Golden Eagles earn their first two wins in Florida this past weekend, and women's softball starts its season in Myrtle Beach.

The Golden Eagles baseball team earned its first win of the season this past weekend against Wheaton College, 5-1, in the first game of a doubleheader.
Unfortunately for SJC (2-4), that win was sandwiched between two losses.
The men first lost against Illinois College, 7-6, in the first game of their Florida trip to Fort Meyers. The team held a 7-6 lead in the seventh inning of that game, but Illinois then had a two-out rally knocking in two unearned runs giving them an 8-6 lead, which they were able to hold onto for the victory.

In their first game against Wheaton College, the Eagles scored five runs on 10 hits to get their 5-1 victory, but lost the second game of the doubleheader.
Wheaton put eight runs across the plate over the first two innings as St. Joseph’s committed six errors in defeat, 8-6.

The men rebounded by defeating Baruch, 12-9, Sunday afternoon to close out the fourth game of the Florida trip.
The men then lost the next two games against Fredonia, 18-5, on Monday and to Knox, 10-7, on Tuesday. against Fredonia on Monday and 10-7 to Knox on Tuesday. The final game of the Fort Meyers trip is against Dubuque on Wednesday.
The team’s next home game will be against NYU- Polytechnic on Saturday at noon.
Women’s Softball Begins Myrtle Beach Tournament
The SJC softball team will begin its season Tuesday morning at the Snowbird Softball Tournament in Myrtle Beach.
In their Tuesday doubleheader against Gordon College, the team won their first game, 8-1, but lost in the second, 11-14.
Wednesday, the ladies played a doubleheader against Gettysburg College to less success, a 10-1 loss in the first game and a 9-1 loss in the second.
The ladies will play eight games—including three doubleheaders—over the tournament before they return home on March 19.
Their first game on Long Island will be against Suffolk Community College on March 23 at 3:30 p.m.
