Election Results for Patchogue Area

Voters re-elect Lesko, elect Bellone to replace Levy for county executive; legislature race still too close to call.

Election Day 2011 has passed but results are still being tallied in the close race for Suffolk County Legislator.

Suffolk County Legislature

Democrat Rob Calarco is leading Republican John Giannott in the race for the Suffolk County Legislature in the 7th District by only 103 votes (6,051-5,948), according to the Suffolk County Board of Elections on Tuesday night.

When all districts reporting, Calarco emerged over Giannott with 50.38 percent of the vote, but the results are not yet official as absentee ballots are yet to be counted.

Both men are seeking to replace Legis. Jack Eddington, who did not run for re-election. The 7th Legislative District includes Patchogue, Medford, Holtsville and Blue Point.

Brookhaven Town Supervisor

Incumbent Democrat  against Cecile Forte on Tuesday night after receiving 58.57 percent of the vote. Lesko will serve a second full term as Brookhaven Supervisor.

Suffolk County Executive

Democrat  beating Republican Angie Carpenter with 56 percent of the vote. Bellone will replace current Executive Steve Levy who was forced to forgo another run after a campaign investigation.
