Suffolk County's 19 Civil Service Exams Rescheduled
Notifications to those who signed up began Thursday, county spokeswoman says.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — The 19 Suffolk County Civil Service exams postponed last week have been rescheduled for Oct. 15, County Executive Steve Bellone's spokeswoman Marykate Guilfoyle said Thursday.
The exams were originally planned for Oct. 1, and now county officials have begun notifying residents who signed up to take them, she said.
All other exams scheduled for later this month will go on as planned, according to Guilfoyle.

Newsday reported that Guilfoyle told them the rolling restoration of services is continuing, with additional services being brought back online this week.
Officials resumed allowing title companies to perform searches on Monday, nearly a month after the county's web-based applications were disrupted following a ransomware attack on Sept. 8.

The county's 911 emergency call center, which had been supplemented by the New York Police Department, was restored last week, Newsday reported.
The county's web-based applications were attacked, forcing officials to take down some of its services, including web pages and email, while they undertook an investigation. The attack has since been deemed a ransomware attack.
A cybercriminal gang named "BlackCat" has alleged responsibility, according to posts on the dark web.
County officials have previously said that the hackers responsible for the cyberattack had either accessed or acquired residents' personal information and they advised vigilant credit monitoring.
