Talkbox: How Are You Dealing With Higher Gas Prices?

Patchogue, Medford residents sound off at the pump.

Higher gas prices in the Patchogue and Medford area are affecting residents at the pump, with prices ranging from $4.19 per gallon to as high as $4.59 according to Motortrend.com’s survey of the Patchogue area.

“We’re being ripped off,” said Roger McCrosson, who was filling up at $4.19 a gallon at a near Main Street in Patchogue.

McCrosson said that the high prices are causing him to rethink his driving habits.

It was more of the same at a BP station in Medford off the Long Island Expressway, where Danny, a Medford resident, was paying $4.07 to keep his car going.

“We tend to stay home and not go out as much,” he said, referring to his family.

And Danny, like many other residents, worries that it is only going to get worse.
