Thanksgiving Food Needed to Serve Suffolk County's Poor This Week

Hundreds of Long Islanders will come to Lighthouse Mission in need of Thanksgiving Food this week. Please donate food to help each of them.

Thanksgiving Food Needed by Thursday, November 15th to Help Local Families in Need

There's nothing like a nice Thanksgiving meal with family and friends. But for many struggling families on Long Island, such a meal is unaffordable. High rent and utilities bills, unemployment, sickness, and homelessness are just some of the obstacles that they face year-round, and especially during the holidays.

Lighthouse Mission – Long Island's largest Mobile Food Pantry has been a helping hand for Long Islanders in need since 1992, and wants to bless our neighbors in need in a special way this Thanksgiving: by giving them everything they need for a full Thanksgiving meal free of charge.

This year we anticipate up to 3,600 Long Islanders will come to their local Lighthouse Mission Food Outreach in need of help during the week of Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately, we currently only have 600 Turkeys in our freezer, and our Thanksgiving Outreach programs begin in just three days!

Will you help us meet the need? Please consider donating Frozen Turkeys, boxed stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, gravy, canned vegetables, and other Thanksgiving Foods to Lighthouse Mission. We also welcome monetary donations to support programs like this year-round.
