Village Board: St. Patrick's Day and Shorefront Park Clean-Up Discussed
The passing of the sash, St. Patrick's Parade and upcoming performances and events discussed.
St. Patrick's Day events, spring cleaning at Shorefront Park, the series of Farmer's Market events and upcoming shows to Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts were discussed at Monday's Village Board of Trustees meeting.

Gail Hoag, executive director, thanked Trustee Gerard Crean and Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri for attending the traditional on Sunday to the 2011 St. Patrick's Day Grand Marshals, Bob and Sheila Morrows of , where the festivities were held.

The grand marshals will lead the on Sunday, March 27. There will also be a 4-mile run that day.
This year's parade theme is "Really Be Green," meaning to help protect the environment while celebrating Irish heritage.
Networking Meeting
On Wednesday the Chamber of Commerce is holding a Networking Meeting at from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., which will also be the 65-year anniversary of the opening of the clothing store.
Patchogue Theatre Report
The Folk Fest scheduled for Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at the will feature Peter Yarrow of the 1960s folk trio, Peter, Paul and Mary. Come to see if he performs the group's hit song, "Puff, the Magic Dragon."
"It's going to be a good family show," trustee John Krieger said. "Bring the kids for lots of sing-alongs."
Bret Michaels of the glam metal band Poison, and more recently reality TV fame, will be at the theatre on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Comedian David Brenner can be seen at the theatre on Saturday, May 7.

Upcoming Events
The request was approved for the Long Island Growers Market to hold their annual Farmers Market on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., from July through November in the municipal lot on East Main Street.
A request was approved to hold the Great Brookhaven Plant-In at Shorefront Park on Saturday, June 4 at noon.
Another request was granted to hold the second annual Great Brookhaven Clean-up at Shorefront Park on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m.
The 2010 inaugaral clean up resulted in the collection of 16 pounds of garbage from Shorefront Park.
