Woman, 61, Struck By Car, Killed In Bellport
Kathleen Corcoran of North Bellport was pushing a shopping cart westbound in the roadway on Woodside Avenue, police said.
BELLPORT, NY — A 61-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed in Bellport Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.
Police said Kathleen Corcoran of North Bellport was pushing a shopping cart and walking westbound in the roadway on Woodside Avenue, between Station Road and Curtis Avenue, when a 2005 Hyundai traveling westbound struck her at about 9:30 p.m.
Corcoran was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said. The Hyundai’s driver, Philip Sanzaro, 45, of Bellport, was not injured, police said, adding that the car was impounded for a safety check.
