Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in East Patchogue on Tuesday morning.
The robbery occurred at about 7:05 a.m. at 901 Montauk Highway at the East Winds apartment complex.
According to police, a woman was getting into her vehicle when a man approached her. The man displayed a gun and struck the woman in the head with it.

The man, who was wearing black clothing and a stocking over his face, stole a purse containing cash and a credit card. The woman was not injured. No arrests have been made.
