Cortlandt Man Shot at Possible Car Thieves, Missed
Two Peekskill teens—neither injured—have been charged with petty larceny.

New York State Police responded to a Cortlandt residence on Laurel Road at 1:23 a.m. Aug. 24 for a reported larceny in progress.
Troopers interviewed the complainant, a 49-year-old Cortlandt man, who reported that he observed 2 people inside his 2015 Acura, which was parked on the street.
The man said he retrieved his handgun (which police say he legally posseses) and walked out of his house.
He told police that when he approached the suspects, one of them turned toward him and was possibly holding a weapon. So he fired one round at the suspect, missing him.
