Cortlandt Man Stole Credit Cards From Car: State Police

When arrested, he had a mask, bolt cutters, additional stolen items from unrelated crimes, and a small amount of Adderall, police allege.

CORTLANDT, NY — A Cortlandt man is accused of breaking into a car and using the credit cards he found there. New York state police said they responded to Springvale Road in the town of Cortlandt on Sept. 13, for a report of a larceny from a vehicle.

Troopers identified Naseem G. Shad, 37, as the suspect. They allege Shad broke into the vehicle, and later used the credit cards to make several illegal purchases.

At the time of his arrest he was found with a mask, bolt cutters, additional stolen items from unrelated crimes, and a small amount of Adderall, police said.

Shad was charged Oct. 4 with Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, all class E felonies, Identity Theft in the 3rd degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, all class A misdemeanors.

Shad was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. Shad is next scheduled to appear before the Court Oct. 9.
