Artist's Reception and Exhibit Opening

“The Role of Light in the Garden of Eden” is a series of paintings by Paul Magliari that blend surrealism and illusionist-photo realism to create an attraction to stir the curiosity in us. “My paintings are based on human perception, curiosity, and the juxtaposition of wants and needs. As such, they live on several levels. The use of a limited palette, as in black and white, focuses the viewer on the shapes and possible meaning(s) of them.”

Paul Magliari was born and raised in Westchester County. A self-taught musician, songwriter, playwright, painter, and graphic designer, he also owns his own company Stutterdot Design Concepts. He has directed photo shoots for the cover of New York Magazine, and has won awards for his artwork from Promax Silver (WWF Royal Rumble campaign), Connecticut Art Directors Club, and the Mari Gallery. His works have been exhibited in numerous one person and juried group exhibitions in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Paul's exhibit at the BRC Gallery of the BeanRunner Cafe in Peekskill will run from October 16 through December 4, 2011.
