Swing 4

Groovin' since 2010, Swing 4 is a jazz combo that has perked the ears of local music lovers. Our group consists of five (that's right) musicians including Jeff Whalen (alto sax, music teacher at Yorktown's Crompond Elementary School), Charles Racioppo (trumpet), Mark McIntyre (guitar), Steve Russo (bass), and John Venezia (drums). The members of the combo are in the Yorktown High School Jazz Band, where Jeff Whalen is co-director. Swing 4 has played at a variety of gigs such as the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, Peter Pratts Inn, Traveler's Rest, the YHS swing dance, and several private functions. Our repertoire includes everything from Swing to Latin to Funk, with composers such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Duke Ellington, and titles like "All Of Me”, "Round Midnight","Take the A Train", and "Chameleon".
