"Place Matters" is part of the documentary film series Unnatural Causes, produced by California Newsreel, exploring racial and social inequities in health. Unnatural Causes crisscrosses the country investigating the growing body of evidence that suggests there is more to our health than bad habits and unlucky genes. It circles in on the social circumstances in which we are born, live, and work can actually get under our skin and put us at risk for stroke, heart disease, asthma, hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, and even cancer.
This film screening is being organized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) - Peekskill Branch Health Committee in collaboration with Hudson River HealthCare, Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network, Mount Olivet Baptist Church Health Education Ministry & Sister to Sister & Mission Ministry, and Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hudson Valley Social Justice Ministry.
