Harlem Wizard Makes a Special Preview Stop at Hen Hud Elementary Schools

Fundraising basketball game set for March 14th

Harlem Wizards Captain Arnold Bernard, known to his teammates and fans as “A Train,” represented the Wizards at our three Hendrick Hudson elementary schools on March 3 when he performed a one-man preview show for students in advance of a March 14th fundraising game at Hen Hud High School. The Wizards will face off against a team of Hendrick Hudson teachers, administrators, and other staff, community members and alumni, and the players from Harlem are a sure bet to win.

Although “A Train” stands about 5’ 6”, his basketball skills are considerable. Working with a group of students in a catch-and-pass game, he had everyone mesmerized by his ball handling and dexterity. He also promised that he and his teammates would stay after the game to autograph the program of every student who attended.

The fundraiser will benefit the Hendrick Hudson Community Educational Foundation, Inc., our community-based non-profit organization that grants funds in support of educational activities that benefit all citizens residing within the boundaries of the Hendrick Hudson School District. Since 1995, the HHCEF has awarded over $250,000 in grants and scholarship to the Hen Hud community.
