Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Turkey Run Team Donates Holiday Turkeys to CHOP
Fun Run organized by Quiet Man Public House helps collect holiday turkeys for homeless

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (November 20, 2014) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center employees are ready to look like turkeys on Saturday, all in the name of a good cause.
Ten employees from the Hospital will be running in the Turkey Run, an annual race organized by the Quiet Man Public House on Saturday, November 22 in downtown Peekskill. The race starts at 9:15 and registration begins at 8 a.m.
This is a fun-run in which runners carry frozen turkeys with them during the race. The turkeys are later donated to CHOP (Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill), a local organization with the goal of eliminating hunger in Peekskill. All turkey’s will be distributed to locals who are in need for Thanksgiving.
The HVHC team plans to dress in costume and use a stretcher to carry the turkeys.
“Everyone should sign up,’’ said Dr. William Higgins, Vice President of Medical Affairs, who is running on Saturday along with his son. ”It’s a great way to give back to the community.’’
If you wish to donate additional food items besides a turkey, all non perishable food items will be collected the day of the run.
