Competition to be Held at Historic Paramount Theater in the Heart of Peekskill

The 2019 Miss New York and Miss New York’s Outstanding Teen Competitions will be held at the historic Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill, NY in June, 2019.

For the first time ever, the 55th annual Miss New York Scholarship Organization announced that the 2019 Miss New York Competition will be held at 7PM on June 8, 2019 at Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill, NY. The finals will be preceded by two preliminary nights of competition at the Paramount Theater beginning at 7PM.

Last September, the Miss New York Organization made history when the state winner from New York was crowned Miss America 2018 claiming New York’s 7th Miss America – an iconic moment for the organization as they now hold the record for the most Miss Americas of any other state. We are absolutely thrilled to have the Miss New York Competition in the city of Peekskill.

The community members, business owners, and city officials have been such a joy and pleasure to work with over the last few months, as we ironed out the competition details,” said Mack Hopper, Chairman of the Miss New York Board of Directors, “We look forward to building on this partnership with the community and making Peekskill the official home of the Miss New York Competition for years to come.”

In the last six years, the competition has been in various parts of the state including Staten Island and Buffalo, where four of the last seven Miss New Yorks were crowned who then became Miss America. In June 2018, Nia Franklin from Brooklyn won the competition and three months later claimed the coveted title of Miss America and $50,000 scholarship with her opera singing and “New York grit”.
