Peekskill Postpones St. Patrick's Parade Due To Weather Forecast

Parade organizers said it would be better for the marchers and the general public to be off the streets Saturday.

PEEKSKILL, NY โ€” Because of a forecast for inclement weather Saturday, the Peekskill St. Patrick's Parade organizers have decided to postpone the event.

The new date for the annual parade is Saturday, March 26. The parade will step off at 3 p.m.

"It is in the best interest of both marchers and the general public to be off the streets with accumulating snow in the forecast," according to a news release.

The parade will begin at South Division and 2nd Streets. The reviewing stand is on James Street, between Park and Brown streets.

John Testa, a lifelong Peekskill resident, will be the grand marshal. He is a former Peekskill mayor and councilman and Westchester County legislator.

The parade is sponsored by the St. Patrick's Committee of Peekskill, Peekskill Business Improvement District and the city of Peekskill.
