Preserving History on the Hudson: Story of Sing Sing and Hope for Historic Prison Museum
Saturday's program is sponsored by the Van Cortlandtville Historical Society.

John Wunderlich, president of the Ossining Historical Society, will present a program on the efforts to establish a museum on the grounds of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility on the banks of the Hudson River in Ossining.
He will illustrate how such a museum at this location will offer a unique perspective with educational exhibits on crime and punishment in America over almost 200 years. The famous (or “infamous”) Sing Sing, also known as the “The Big House,” is the oldest working prison in the United States. It’s rich history is known throughout the world.
Mr. Wunderlich, a professional artist and vice president of the Ossining Arts Council, works with the Rehabilitation Through the Arts Program with inmates at the prison.
