Chief Adam Renwick told the Common Council that officers responded only to handle local safety issues and property damage, stressing the city's policy against assisting federal civil immigration enforcement while promising a full review and transparency.

Saugerties officials hope the grant-funded research will pinpoint pollution sources, justify infrastructure upgrades, and guide practical fixes like sewer extensions, septic improvements, and erosion controls along the 32-mile creek.
