Hudson Valley Protests To Protect Mueller Investigation

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Several protests are planned for Thursday in the Hudson Valley to protest President Donald Trump’s decision to ask for Justice Secretary Jeff Session's resignation and appoint Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to oversee the Mueller Investigation, one day after the midterm elections showed Democrats becoming a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

They're part of a nationwide "rapid response" effort that includes more than 900 protests across the country.

The protesters are concerned that Whitaker might take the steps he outlined in numerous public appearances to undermine the investigation into Russian interference the 2016 election and possible collusion by the Trump campaign.

Activists in Rockland County will participate in the nationwide event with a protest in Nanuet:

• WHERE: Corner of Middletown Road and Route 59, Nanuet, NY

Also, more than 475 people have signed up to attend a event at Senator Charles Schumer’s office in Peekskill:

There's one planned in Kingston at the office of U.S. Rep John Faso (R-19):

There are also protests planned in Beacon, Rhinebeck and White Plains:

According to national event organizers, there are more than 900 protests planned.
