Winner Projected In 19th Congressional District Race
BREAKING: We have a projected winner in the race between Rep. John Faso and Antonio Delgado.

RHINEBECK, NY — In a race that could be considered a referendum on Donald Trump, Democrat Antonio Delgado of Rhinebeck defeated Republican Rep. John Faso of Kinderhook to represent the 19th Congressional District in New York.
The vote tally, with 526 of 619 election districts reporting, was 111,753 to 102,003 in favor of Delgado. The vote count is unofficial.
Also on the ballot were Steven Greenfield, Green Party, and Diane Neal, Friends of Diane Neal. They received 3,149 and 2,019 votes, respectively.

CNN projects that NY Democrat Antonio Delgado, the Rhodes Scholar whom Republicans had insisted on calling a "big-city rapper," has unseated Republican John Faso.

The campaign was contentious, with advertisements implying that Delgado was a big-city rapper which should disqualify him from office.
Delgado made the issue of health care a top priority because Faso voted to get rid of the Affordable Care Act.

The district voted for Donald Trump in 2016.
The 19th Congressional District is comprised of Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties and parts of Broome, Dutchess, Montgomery and Rensselaer counties.
