Two DWIs, One Crash In Cortlandt

State police reported several arrests over the weekend.

CORTLANDT, NY — New York State Police arrested 23 motorists accused of drunk driving over the weekend of July 14. Among them were two arrests in Cortlandt.

  • On July 14, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Dery Duarte Ipina, 27, of Peekskill, for DWI. He was traveling on Albany Post Road in the town of Cortlandt, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.
  • On July 14, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Erik A. Villafane, 28, of Newburgh, for DWI. He was traveling on Lexington Avenue in the town of Cortlandt, when he left the roadway and crashed into a building. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.
