Change Your Mind With Neurofeedback including ADHD, Autism, & Anxiety

Pelham Special Education PTA Presents: Change Your Mind with Neurofeedback including ADHD, Autism & Anxiety

On Thursday, October 3, 2013, there will be a presentation from guest speaker Gerry Radano on Neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a holistic, alternative modality that is drug-free, painless, and non-invasive. Neurofeedback acts as “Technological Cognitive Behavior Therapy” and treats many neuropsychological conditions which involve the self-regulation of the cerebral cortex of the brain. Neuro/Biofeedback is a method increasingly being used by professionals in their practice to improve functioning of the brain, including: The Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, the Olympics, and the US Government, to name just a few. Neurofeedback uses direct training of brain function to address problems of dysregulation such as anger, anxiety, autism, depression, attention deficits, oppositional behavior, migraines, obsessive compulsive disorder, sleep, dementia, PTSD, and impulsivity. It also works to enhance academic and athletic performance. Sessions are typically 30 minutes one or two times a week for several months.

Ms. Radano is a trained as a clinician, advocate, and an administrator. As a mental health advocate, she has done public speaking around the country to help take the stigma off mental illness. She has done numerous presentations at colleges, mental health facilities, hospitals, as well as radio and TV venues. She is an award winning writer and has been interviewed by various prominent publications.  She is certified by the American Insititute of Biofeedback Technicians, AIBT.
