Pelham Daily Sports Digest: Local Teams Advance

Pelham’s top seeded volleyball team continues to dominate the competition while the boy’s soccer squad is on a Cinderella run that has landed them in the section’s final four.

Both teams won yesterday, but thanks to the rescheduling of games due to last weekend’s storm they will both be in action again tonight. Boy’s soccer will head to Lakeland while volleyball will host Hen Hud.

The girl’s soccer team will also be in action this afternoon as they square off at Ardsley at 3 p.m.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: Spring Valley @ Pelham

Score:  Pelham Won 2-0

Highlights: The eleventh seeded Pelicans flew passed Spring Valley with a 2-0 victory. Ricarti Basso and Aiden Murray scored for the team while Luke Szendiuch pitched a shut out with seven saves,

 

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Putnam Valley @ Pelham

Score:  Pelham Won 3-0

Highlights: The top seeded Pelicans rolled over Putnam Valley in straight sets as Pelham won 25-10, 25-12, 25-11. In the victory Pelham’s Tori Bowser had 12 kills and Lauren Keller led the team with 23 assists.

In boy’s soccer, (11) Pelham @ (7) Lakeland at 5 p.m. 

In girl’s soccer, (11) Pelham @ (3) Ardsley at 3 p.m.

In volleyball, (4) Hen Hud @ (1) Pelham at 4:30 p.m.
