Two big wrestling tournaments took place over the weekend in Westchester as Rye hosted an eight team meet and Port Chester hosted 12 teams at SUNY Purchase for the 36^th annual Tony Carlucci Tournament. Fox Lane beat Somers for first place in the Port Chester meet and Brewster took the title at Rye. Check out our Photo Gallery from Saturday’s action at SUNY Purchase on Facebook.

Cancer affects everyone on a daily basis and Jimmy V’s ESPY speech still rings in my ears. Years ago ESPN set up the Jimmy V foundation to help fight this disease, and every year at this time the family of networks asks for donations and sets up a week full of survival stories in the sports world.

The Port Chester Softball Booster Club is currently running a fund raiser with Modell’s. Highlights: Matt Henson led Pelham with 25 points, 18 of which came from beyond the arc.

Game: Ardsley vs. Pelham (Irvington Tournament Saturday)

Score: Pelham Won 65-61

Highlights: Matt Henson led Pelham with 18 points in the tournaments 3^rd place game. Henson was named to the All-Tournament Team. 

 

Sport: Ice Hockey

Game: Pelham vs. Shaker-Colonie

Score: Pelham Won 6-4

Highlights: Graham Lambdin led the Pelicans as he found the back of the net three times.
