Gnomes, Art and Missing Powerball Winner
Here is what you need to know in Pelham for Wednesday, July 31, 2013.

1. Pelham children can come to the Pelham Public Library at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for the second of two sessions in which they will make a gnome/fairy house. It's a free activity. The library is located at 530 Colonial Ave.
2. The Pelham Art Center's Faculty and Student Showcase continues to be on display Wednesday. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. This annual exhibition features both two and three dimensional work in a variety of mediums by the Art Center’s distinguished teachers and enthusiastic students. The PAC is located at 155 Fifth Ave. in Pelham.
3. 4. The Port Authority invites people to submit their favorite photographs of the new World Trade Center taken from their cameras, cell phones or other mobile devices. Participation requires visiting and following the Port Authority’s Facebook page, WTCProgress. Once participants follow the page, there are step-by-step instructions on how to upload a photo through the Facebook application. Once uploaded, participants will need to engage friends, family and co-workers to encourage them to vote for their photo and receive the most votes. The three individuals whose photos receive the most votes will receive the ultimate experience of a visit to the top of One WTC with two of their friends. The photo contest will allow people from all around the world to submit their best photo until the contest closes. Entrants must be amateur photographers and at least 18 years of age. People can submit photos directly through Facebook, or through Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag “#OneWTCBestPhotos”. Photo submissions and voting started today, Monday, July 29, at 7:00 a.m. EDT and will close on Sunday, August 25 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
