Mystery Surrounds Former Pelham Manor Police Chief Withdrawing Retirement Application

Former Chief Alfred Mosiello stepped down from the force in February following an email scandal.

Former Pelham Manor Police Chief Alfred Mosiello, who resigned last month following a racist email controversy, has withdrawn his state retirement application, but has not disclosed why.

The Journal News reports that Mosiello pulled the application last week, but neither village officials nor the former chief’s representatives are talking about what that means.

Mosiello resigned and announced his retirement after he was disciplined for forwarding racist emails from his personal account to some members of the department, among others.

He filed his retirement paperwork but could withdraw it before it became effective.
