What to know about Pelham for Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013: A Pelham native's book for young adults, storytime cancellation, nursery school registration and more events, facts and reminders.

Here's what's going on in and what to know about Pelham for Tuesday, Aug. 13:
- Young adult book author Paul Ferrante, a native of Pelham, is coming out with his latest, Spirits of the Pirate House: A T.J. Jackson Mystery, in September. "It is the second installment in the T.J. Jackson Mysteries series. I'm happy to say that Book 1, Last Ghost at Gettysburg, is doing well!" he writes on his website.
- Junior Wonders Nursery School in Pelham still has spaces open for the 2013-2014 school year. A PDF of the application can be found here.
- There is NO Tuesday storytime at Pelham Library this Tuesday. According to the library calendar, this Tuesday is one of the exceptions (as is Tuesday, Aug. 28). Wednesday Storytime (Aug. 14) does take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Storytime resumes at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 20.
- Hounds on the Sound 2013, which benefits the New Rochelle Humane Socieity, will be held October 6. If you register online before Thursday, Aug. 15, you are automatically entered into two drawings for $25 worth of raffle tickets to be used the day of the event. To register, go here.
- More Bronx River Parkway closures are coming up through White Plains, Scarsdale and Bronxville. Everyone is advised to find alternate routes. Here is more information.
