PMHS Varsity Golf Braves Rotten Weather To Beat New Rochelle
Teams battle wind, cold, and rain as they navigate the greens of the Pelham Country Club.
The PMHS golf team defeated New Rochelle on Tuesday by a score of 235 to 249, with Pelham seizing six of the top 10 scores of the match.
While most games were canceled due to the downpour, PMHS' Varsity golf team still took to the greens of the Pelham Country Club to take on an evenly matched New Rochelle lineup.
Though this was only Pelham's second match, the roster is still very fluid, according to coach Tom Roksvold, who is also Pelham Middle School teacher. Even with the fluctuating nature of the young season, Pelham has produced a strong batch of seasoned players, capable of handling the challenging PCC course. One such player is team captain Marc Seras, a PMHS senior, who has produced the top score for Pelham in both matches.

PCC is by no means an easy course, remarked Roksvold. It's a course constructed for shot-makers and the only way to play it, is with control, said Roksvold.
Even with the rain intermittently beating down, and the wind blowing the balls to and fro, the PMHS varsity golf team was still able to post a very respectable score on the par 35 PCC course.
