Summer Concert, Field Hockey and Swimming

Here are activities for the week ahead in and around Pelham.

Pelham Town Concert Series
The weekly Monday evening concert series continues at 7:30 p.m. July 29 with the Virgil Scott Swing Band. The concerts take place at Town House Park, 20 Fifth Ave., unless it's raining. Then they move inside the Town House next door.

Field Hockey
This is the last week to register for the Field Hockey Clinic that starts August 5. The clinic is for grades five through eight. You need to register at the Recreation Department offices, 20 Fifth Ave. Pelham residency is required.

Rescue My Renovation
Do you have a renovation horror story? HGTV's Rescue My Renovation show is looking for homeowners in the tri-state area who are victims of bad contractors. Does that describe you?

88th annual Westchester County Swimming and Diving Championships
The swimming portion of the 88th annual Westchester County Swimming and Diving Championships starts this week. Playland Pool in Rye will host the swimming competition, which begins on Monday, July 29, and runs through Thursday, Aug. 1, beginning at 4:30 p.m. each day. Rain date is Aug. 2. The events are sponsored by Westchester County Parks and the Westchester County Swimming Association. See wcsa.usswim.net or westchestergov.com/parks for more information.

Grand Central Exhibit
For the next time you're in Grand Central and have a little time to spare: "The Next Level: Photographs by Hiroyuki Suzuki," an exhibit at the New York Transit Museum at Grand Central Terminal shows ongoing construction work 18 stories beneath the station. The exhibit, which just opened on Tuesday, July 23, runs through Oct. 27. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but closed on Mondays.
