Take a 'Paws' for Reading, Candy and Jazz Around Pelham



Have a sweet tooth? Then you'll want to head to Imagine Candy in Scarsdale Village where there's a tasting every Friday and Saturday. Each week you will find a different selection of wonderful chocolate, Belgian chocolate pretzels, award winning caramels, fun candies, and more!

The kids could "Paws a While to Read" Saturday morning at the Pelham Library. Kids will get read to dogs with Charly, Nettie and Olivia from 10 a.m. to noon, Aug. 3. 

"Twenty Feet from Stardom," is a 2013 Sundance Film Festival choice that opens Friday at The Picture House. It takes a close look at all of those unknown backup singers who make your favorite stars—from Springsteen to Sting and Mick—sound fabulous. (And those stars are in the movie too!) 

The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum and Bronx Music Heritage Center will present Latin jazz great Bronx native and 7-time Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria and his band, Quarteto Ache’ (positive energy), for its First Friday! from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2.

'Strike Out ALS,' the Pelham Little League's 3rd annual Jr. ALS charity tournament starts at 8:45 a.m. at Richie Bell Field.
