Young Pelham elementary flag team captures Bowl in first Chelsea Waterside tournament

Pelham Youth Rugby's elementary flag team traveled to Chelsea Waterside Park in Manhattan on Sunday to play in their first tournament of the season.

This was a very young team, being made up of mostly third graders, and they played against teams consisting of mostly fifth graders. After stumbling in the first game, Pelham regrouped and came out on fire in the playoff rounds to capture the Bowl.

Pelham Youth Rugby is in its sixth year and has more than 80 kids playing rugby in grades 2-11 on flag teams for elementary and U12, U14 and U16 tackle teams.
