The Fair Media Council's Folio Awards deadline is midnight, Dec. 20. Past winners have landed new business, recognition and better jobs.

The Fair Media Council's Folio Awards, honoring the best in news and social media, entry deadline is midnight, Dec. 20, 2016 via FMC's online entry system.
Businesses and nonprofit organizations may enter the social media categories, while any news outlet or freelancer may enter the news categories. This year, FMC is expanding the categories in both the social media and news categories.
The social media categories have nearly doubled since their introduction more than five years ago. Now, in addition to standard categories, the Folio Awards social media category includes:

- Media Upstart
- Community Service
FMC is also introducing additional news categories:
- Watchdog news
- Public Service news
- Public Policy news
- Animal Welfare news & features
