Jared Goerke for Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education
Don't forget to vote May 17th!

Dear Fellow Plainview-Old Bethpage Residents,
My name is Jared Goerke, and I am candidate for the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education. I am a 2016 graduate of POBJFKHS, and my experiences attending college, graduate school, and securing full-time employment have given me first hand insight into what our graduates need to succeed post-high school. I look forward to the opportunity to work with our BOE, faculty, and staff to help prepare our students as they make their way in the real world.
During my tenure in POB schools, I was a board member of the Drama Cadets, overseeing Public Relations. I was also the Vice-President of the Gay Straight Alliance. Post graduation, I attended SUNY Purchase and received a BA with a double major in History and Arts Management.

Following graduation from SUNY Purchase, I was employed full-time for Assemblymember Charles D. Lavine as a Constituent Liaison and later Director of Community Relations. During the pandemic, I decided to go back to school to receive my Master’s Degree in Government and Politics with a focus in Public Administration from St. John’s University which I completed this past January.
If elected, I will ensure that social and emotional wellness continue to be a priority for our district. The well-being of our students is just as important as their academic achievements, and I will work closely with current board members and other stakeholders to continue their efforts in this area.

I also believe that as a board, it is important that we bring parents, students, and all of our community members into the decision-making process for the district.
Additionally, because I hold the position that parents deserve to have a say in what goes on in the district, I fully support a parent's right to opt their child out of standardized testing.
I also look to use my experience in special education to make sure that all students can take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities that our school has to offer. I will advocate strongly for the students with disabilities in the community.
I ask that you consider giving me your vote on May 17th. For more information, visit my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Goerke4POB or email me at goerke4pob@gmail.com

Jared Goerke
