Public to Choose Water Commissioner Tuesday
Incumbent Andrew Bader is faced by challenger Joseph Scarpa.
Residents in the Plainview Water District will go to the polls today, Tuesday, to choose a water commissioner.
Incumbent Water Commissioner Andrew Bader, currently serving as chairman of the board, faces a challenge from Joseph Scarpa, a certified public accountant from Old Bethpage.
Water commissioners oversee the operation of Plainview's Water District.

The voting is from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at the offices of the Plainview Water District, 10 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview.
Bader has been on the board for the past three years and has been highly visible in the community. Bader has stressed the board's ongoing improvements to the water district.

Scarpa has advocated for water testing that goes beyond existing quality requirements. As an accountant, Scarpa says he will serve as a a watchdog on district fiscal matters.
