Acclaimed Madkoi String Quartet to Perform April 24th

The Manhattan-based group will perform at All Saints' Church, Briarcliff Manor on Sunday, April 24th at 3:00 PM

The Madkoi String Quartet will perform a program of Prokofiev, Haydn, Borodin, and Piazzolla on Sunday, April 24th, 3:00 pm at All Saints’ Church, Briarcliff Manor, NY.

The Manhattan-based group has performed individually and together to rave reviews in New York, the U.S., and abroad. Their interpretations of classical and contemporary music are “…making waves,” according to Edge Media.

Rose Xiu Yi Kow (violin) has “tone to die for” (the Straits Times) and is an outstanding soloist and chamber musician. Yoonjung Hwang (violin) has performed across the world as a chamber musician. Her mentors include Isaac Malkin and cellist Wolfram Koessel of the American String Quartet. Jay Julio plays on a Douglas cox viola on loan from the Virtu Foundation and uses a bow on loan from the American Viola Society. He is already a 2015 YoungArts winner and has been mentored by Karen Ritscher, formerly of the Julliard String Quartet. The cellist is Camille Dietrich, 2012 Rockland County Music Teachers Guild Concerto Division winner. Ms. Dietrich has a particular affinity for contemporary music. Her mentors include both the Kronos and JACK Quartets, with whom she has played at Carnegie Hall and other venues.
