Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Daughter Allegedly Takes Mother's Car; Suspended License Arrest

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from December 12 — 18, 2011.

Sunday, Dec. 18

12:31 p.m. — An Ossining man came into police headquarters to report he was walking his dog behind the platform tennis courts and soccer field at and discovered a green handbag. He stated he did not want to touch the bag. Police went to the scene and found the bag, which was empty and without identification. The bag was disposed of at police headquarters.

Saturday, Dec. 17

9:37 a.m. — A Holly Place resident reported the home's mailbox appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, causing damage. A report of the criminal mischief was filed.

Friday, Dec. 16

9:25 a.m. — A 24-year-old Sleepy Hollow man turned himself into headquarters on an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released on $100 bail. The man is due in court on Jan. 11, 2012.

Thursday, Dec. 15

11:00 a.m. — Police responded to Long Hill Road West, where a resident had reported three suspicious men going door to door. Police brought the three Yonkers men to headquarters for identification purposes. They were issued tickets and taken to the train station.

1:10 a.m. — A Law Road resident reported her daughter 22-year-old daughter had taken her vehicle from their home without permission and did not know where she went. The woman stated it was an ongoing problem and wished to press charges against her daughter. No formal charges have been filed yet. A report was filed.

Tuesday, Dec. 13

8:13 p.m. — Police performed a traffic stop on Route 9A and arrested a 40-year-old Ossining woman for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle she was driving had also been suspended in August due to alleged parking violations. The woman was released on $50 bail and the vehicle was towed from the scene. She is due in court on Jan. 11, 2012.

10:10 a.m. — A rear-end accident involving two vehicle was reported in the northbound lanes of Route 9. One party was reported injured at the scene.

Monday, Dec. 12

5:55 p.m. — Police responded to Central Drive where a resident reported an unknown chocolate labrador in the yard. Police brought the dog to headquarters and turned it over to the the next day.

4:00 p.m. — A Whitson Road resident reported her carbon monoxide detector was going off. The responded and corrected the issue, which was determined to be a malfunction with the detector's sensor.

3:45 p.m. — A woman called police and reported she went to check on her mother's vehicle on South Highland Avenue. She stated it appeared a light fell on the hood of the car while it was parked in a lot. Police reported the car's windshield was also damaged. A report was filed.

9:44 a.m. — Police responded to the scene of a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 9A near the intersection of Chappaqua Road. A woman involved in the accident complained of minor back pain, but did not go to the hospital. A report was filed.
