Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Cell Phones Stolen at High School; Electronics Taken from Vehicle

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the from November 18 — November 27, 2011.
Sunday, Nov. 27
5:50 p.m. — A Charlotte Court resident reported he had received unwanted text messages from an acquaintance. Police are investigating the alleged aggravated harassment.

4:42 p.m. — A Long Hill Road East resident reported a subject had come to the door and requested to use the telephone to call a taxi. The man told the homeowner he had been filming a video in the area and was robbed by the subjects working with him. The resident called a taxi and the man was picked up before police could make contact with him to inquire about the alleged robbery.

10:00 a.m. — A Hirst Road resident reported it appeared someone had gone through her car overnight, but no items appeared to have been taken. A report of the incident was filed.
Friday, Nov. 25
1:29 p.m. — A Long Hill Road West resident reported two tires and rims sitting on his property, adjacent to his driveway, had been removed by an unknown person.
10:18 p.m. — A Pleasantville Road resident reported her mailbox had been stolen sometime between 9:45 and 10 p.m. that night. There are no known witnesses or suspects.
Thursday, Nov. 24
1:16 p.m. — A Hirst Road resident reported multiple items had been taken from his vehicle, including an iPod, GPS navigation system, umbrella and spare change. Police filed a report of the larceny.
Wednesday, Nov. 23
2:49 p.m. — A Tanglewood Circle resident reported her credit card had several unauthorized charges. The case is under investigation.
2:46 p.m. — A Beechwood Way resident reported her AT&T account appeared to have been compromised, as there were unauthorized charges placed. The case is under investigation.
1:36 p.m. — A cell phone caller stated there was a vehicle driving north in the southbound lanes of Route 9A in the area of the Croton. Briarcliff Manor police notified the Westchester County Department of Public Safety about the report. County police canvassed the area with negative results.
12:50 a.m. — Police notified Con Edison of a low-hanging electrical wire on Sleepy Hollow Road.
Tuesday, Nov. 22
3:11 p.m. — A resident reported a potential attempted break-in on Holbrook Lane. Responding officers reported the subjects were contractors who were doing work at a residence.
Monday, Nov. 21
3:25 p.m. — A Briarbook Drive resident reported seeing a man she did not recognize walking around the neighborhood the previous day. Police filed a report.
Sunday, Nov. 20
7:28 a.m. — Several Satinwood Lane residents called police to report there was a man going door-to-door ringing doorbells. Police made contact with the subject, who stated he is a student. He told police his cell phone was dead and was asking residents to use their phones. Police transported the man to police headquarters and contacted his father to pick him up.
Friday, Nov. 18
10:20 p.m. — A Briarcliff High School student reported his cell phone had been stolen from the boys locker room. A report was filed.
4:10 p.m. — Police were notified of a dispute over the sale of a vehicle. Police filed a report of the civil matter.
10:39 a.m. — A student reported his cell phone had been stolen from the gymnasium.
