Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Larceny at Pace Dorm; Tree Branch Breaks Car Window

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the from October 31 — November 6, 2011.
Saturday, Nov. 5
10:08 p.m. — A party reported being flagged down by a male in the Chilmark Shopping Center who was selling magazine subscriptions. Police searched the area for the man with negative results.

8:55 p.m. — A woman called police and reported at approximately 8 p.m., a suspicious man with dreadlocks had approached her and asked her for money near . She stated she told the man she did not have any money and went into the nearby shop, where she watched him leave in a Pathfinder. Police canvassed the area for the man with negative results.
2:09 p.m. — Police received a call from St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, where a Briarcliff Manor resident was reported to have been treated for a dog bite. Police stated they were told the resident was bitten by a neighbor's dog on North State Road and it was not clear why treatment was sought in Newburgh. Police confirmed the dog was registered and had all of its shots.

Friday, Nov. 4
1:36 p.m. — A Pace University student reported his television and Xbox were taken from his room. The alleged larceny is under investigation.
Thursday, Nov. 3
6:28 p.m. — A driver reported a tree branch fell on her car and caused damage while she was driving on Route 9. The responding officer reported the branch had shattered the passenger's side vent window and a report was filed.
Tuesday, Nov. 1
12:21 p.m. — A woman reported her vehicle was sideswiped by a van on Chappaqua Road that did not stop after the incident. Police reported there did not appear to be any damage to the woman's vehicle. A report was filed.
Monday, Oct. 31
4:30 p.m. — A party reported there were wires burning on the top of a utility pole on Holbrook Road. Members of the identified the affected pole and Con Edison was contacted, though did not immediately respond.
12:48 p.m. — Police were notified of wires down and burning on Schrade Road. Responding officers barricaded the area and notified Con Edison.
