Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: New Year's Eve Fireworks; Safe Broken Into

Sunday, Jan. 1
11:29 a.m. — A Hungerford Road North resident reported someone had taken personal property from her safe. A report of the alleged grand larceny was forwarded to the detective for investigation.

7:39 a.m. — A Hazelton Circle resident called police and stated he had witnessed his neighbor on Parkway Road had set off fireworks at midnight. He said the fireworks had hit his roof and gutters, which could have possibly damaged them. He asked the incident be recorded for the record.
Saturday, Dec. 31

11:34 a.m. — Westchester County Police reported a minor motor vehicle accident involving two cars on Pleasantville Road. Property damage and no injuries were reported.
11:24 a.m. — A party contacted police and reported a woman had her dog off-leash while in . Police made contact with the woman who agreed to put the leash on.
Friday, Dec. 30
12:18 p.m. — A Cedar Drive East resident reported seeing hunters headed into the area's woods. Police made contact with the hunters and advised them to leave the village.
Thursday, Dec. 29
9:00 p.m. — Police performed a traffic stop on Route 9A and issued a summons to the driver.
8:18 p.m. — Police performed a traffic stop on Pleasantville Road and issued the driver a summons.
Wednesday, Dec. 28
9:07 a.m. — Police reported a speed limit sign was down on Pleasantville Road near the intersection of Dogwood Lane.
Tuesday, Dec. 27
7:17 p.m. — Police received a call from a Sleepy Hollow Road resident who reported he had received a phone call from a woman who was soliciting information about his credit card. He stated he did not give her the information and she hung up when he asked her who she was. He passed the contact number along to police, who stated their attempts to reach the woman went to a full mailbox. A repot of the incident was filed.
Monday, Dec. 26
9:43 a.m. — A Sleepy Hollow Road resident called police and reported a stone pillar in front of his house had been struck by a large vehicle sometime on December 16 or 17. He stated he suspected the damage was caused by a village vehicle during leaf pickup. The responding officer confirmed the damage, could not assess what caused it. The resident stated he called the and was told one of its vehicles had not caused the damage.
