Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Pedestrian Struck in Parking Lot; DWI Arrest After Accident
The following information was supplied by the police departments. When arrests are noted, they do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Oct. 16
6:45 p.m. — A Coldwell Banker real estate agent reported the banner for an open house she was hosting on Elm Road went missing sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. The banner is valued at $150. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Oct. 12
5:49 p.m. — A man reported his wallet had gone missing from his golf bag in the pro shop at approximately 11:30 a.m. that day. Two days later, the man informed police the wallet had been found, and while cash was missing, his credit cards were intact and he did not wish to pursue the matter any further.

4:32 p.m. — Police responded to a doctor's office on Pleasantville Road that was reported unsecured by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety. Police confirmed the building appeared open and notified the owner.
12:12 p.m. — Police responded to the parking lot, where a man said he was struck by a vehicle after the car jumped the sidewalk, accelerated and hit him from behind. The driver told police she hit a pylon barrier and shopping carts, but braked before the man was injured. Witnesses told police they did not know if the shopping carts or car hit the man, but did indicate the car jumped the curb. Both the driver, an 88-year-old Ossining woman, and pedestrian, a 44-year-old Carmel man, were taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police said the driver has not yet been issued any citations, but the case remains open.
8:40 a.m. — A school district employee came into headquarters to report there was damage to the field at , as a result of what appeared to have been a vehicle driving around. A report of the criminal mischief was taken.
Tuesday, Oct. 11
8:08 p.m. — Police reported a party went inside and told an employee someone had backed into her vehicle in the parking lot, causing minor damage. The vehicle causing the damage was not found by police at the scene. A report was filed.
2:09 p.m. — Police received a call from an employee of a trucking company on Woodside Avenue reporting two trucks parked on the road had been tampered with within the last 48 hours. Damage included tampering with the ignition and battery wires cut. A witness saw a suspicious person in the area and police are working to identify the suspect.
12:26 p.m. — The principal of called police to report a dispute between two male students. The case was referred to the detective.
9:20 a.m. — A 23-year-old Ossining man was arrested for DWI after being involved in an accident on Chappaqua Road. Police said the driver was found sitting on the ground with bloody hands after the car went off road and struck a utility pole. A homeowner on the street said he saw the car traveling at approximately 60 mph before the accident. Police responded to the scene of a one-car accident on Chappaqua Road. In a field sobriety test, the man's BAC was measured at .104. A paramedic took the driver to the Westchester Medical Center with a possible neck/head injury, where he later submitted to a chemical test. The driver was later released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to appear in court last Wednesday.
