Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Rifle Dumped in the Woods; Mailboxes Damaged

The following information was supplied by the police department. When arrests are noted, they do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from November 28 — December 4, 2011.

Saturday, Dec. 3

11:44 a.m. — An Oak Road resident notified police of a dispute with her neighbor the day prior. She told police her children had looked out of the window and made eye contact with her neighbor, who then came onto the property, threw a basketball at the window and started screaming. A report of the dispute was filed.

Friday, Dec. 2

10:08 a.m. — A Chestnut Hill Road resident called police and reported he had been receiving finance-related mail for two people who do not live at the residence. He told police he was concerned the mail may affect the person's financial affairs. A report was filed.

7:26 a.m. — A Briarbrook Drive resident called police and reported a vehicle had pulled up in front of his house. Two teenagers exited the vehicle, he said, with what appeared to be a rifle case and went into the woods. They returned shortly after and got into the vehicle without the case. Responding officers found the rifle case, containing a Benjamin 22 caliber rifle with scope. The firearm was passed over to the detective and the investigation is ongoing.

Thursday, Dec. 1

4:11 a.m. — A disturbance involving youths was reported on Brookwood Drive. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Nov. 30

10:16 p.m. — A Cherry Hill Court resident dialed 911 and reported her boyfriend refused to leave her residence. The man was gone by the time police arrived at the scene.

3:32 p.m. — A woman called police and reported her mother, who resides at  on Pleasantville Road, had some jewelry missing from her room. The woman completed a lost and stolen form and Atria's administration was notified.

9:36 a.m. — A Law Road resident called police and reported vandalism to eight mailboxes on the street. He stated the mailboxes had been damaged overnight. A report of the criminal mischiefs was filed.

Monday, Nov. 28

5:00 p.m. — Westchester County Police reported an alleged road rage incident on Chappaqua Road. The responding officer reported the parties involved did not wish to pursue the matter and both drivers left the scene without incident.

4:03 p.m. — A three-vehicle accident was reported on Route 9A at Chappaqua Road. One party complained of pain at the scene, but refused medical attention when an EMS arrived. All vehicles were driven from the scene by the parties involved.

10:23 a.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Route 9, south of  and arrested a 25-year-old Ossining man for driving with a suspended registration due to an insurance lapse. His driver's license also had five active suspensions. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital, the vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was taken to headquarters for processing. He was released on $100 bail and is due in criminal court on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
