Buddha Body Yoga Workshop Hosted by Yoga Teachers Association
Michael Hayes is an acknowledged master at teaching yoga instructors and students how to work with larger bodies.
The benefits of an appropriate yoga practice are manifold and especially valuable for those who experience their bodies as unwieldy or who have pain or discomfort. In Buddha Body Yoga, poses are modified so that the body is no longer an obstacle. Once students find a way to achieve the poses, they begin to develop confidence and ease in the practice. People with body challenges benefit from improvements in body posture, flexibility, cardiovascular and respiratory efficiency, joint range of motion, balance, and improved weight bearing.
In this workshop, Michael Hayes will review how to use props and other methods to maximize ease and comfort, as well as how to create a space that invites students to participate in exploring yoga and its benefits. The workshop will take place on Saturday, January 9, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Yoga Studio at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor. Cost is $45 for members, $65 for nonmembers in advance; $55 and $75 at the door. Please contact Audrey Brooks at ytapresident@gmail.com or 914 582-7816 with any questions.
